Our Story

Ottertuned is a student-run, mixed voice, pop a Cappella group comprised of students attending Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Founded in the fall of 2013, the group has enjoyed sharing its love of all things a Cappella as the first of it's kind at Otterbein. With goals of reaching out to the community and bettering their own musical skills, the students of Ottertuned return for their eleventh year as a group in 2024. In just a few short years, Ottertuned has made a big impact both on- and off-campus with regular performances at Otterbein's Homecoming and Family Weekend, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Alumni Weekend. Other accomplishments include:

  • Qualifying four times for the International Championship of Collegiate a Cappella (ICCA) Quarterfinals.

  • Placing third in the ICCA Midwest Quarter Final of 2019.

  •  Opening for professional a Cappella groups at the SingStrong Chicago a Cappella festival.

  • Releasing their first single, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," in 2016, which is now available for download/streaming on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and Loudr.

  • Creating Pitch Fest, a day-long a Cappella festival that was attended by nearly 100 high school students.

  • Appearing as back-up vocalists in Vesperteen's "I Never Knew How to Love You" in 2015, available for download on iTunes and Bandcamp.
